The Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council continues with the programming of activities for the elderly in the municipality. In addition to the campaign to disseminate healthy habits, during the spring the Department of Social Services through Community Action with the Elderly has scheduled courses on New Technologies, routes through the municipality, planting urban gardens and is preparing other activities.
People over 60 years of age in the municipality who wish to learn how to deal with new technologies, carry out procedures with institutions electronically or learn how to create a profile on social networks can sign up for the New Technologies course. For hiking lovers, 'Discover your municipality' has been programmed, where they have the opportunity to visit emblematic and cultural places of Santa Lucía de Tirajana on foot.

Those who want kilometer zero products can participate in the creation of a community and ecological urban garden. Groups of users will be able to grow vegetables on plots in our municipality by signing up for the 'Plantando' program. In the senior centers of Doctoral, Sardina, Vecindario and Santa Lucía Casco you can also enjoy board games. Additionally, in 'Activate your mind', exercises are taught that help develop cognitive abilities and train mental agility.
The Councilor for Social Services, Seniors, Children and Family, Antonia Álvarez, points out that “from the area of Community Action with Seniors we continue with the healthy habits project, we have published in paper and digital format a dossier of healthy habits with an almanac, as well “We have put up posters with healthy habits on the streets of our municipality and we will soon offer new activities.” The councilor highlights that "we also have a new activity that we call Support Point in which elderly people will be advised and assisted in carrying out online procedures."
