Around 14:30 p.m. On Friday, March 18, the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert in which it was reported that a minor had suffered an incomplete drowning.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
A minor under 7 years of age who, at the initial time of assistance, presented symptoms of serious semi-drowning, was transferred to the Maternal and Child University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
Staff from the SUC ambulance and medical helicopter, along with a doctor and a nurse from the area's health center, assessed and assisted the minor, who was initially treated by a doctor at the aquatic facility itself. Once stabilized, the affected person was transferred to the aforementioned hospital.
Firefighters, Civil Protection and Local Police personnel ensured the landing and takeoff maneuvers of the helicopter, which landed in an area near the water park, and collaborated with health personnel.
Civil Guard intervened in the device deployed in the area.
