After two years of hiatus due to the pandemic, the Agüimes City Council resumes the organization of this popular mountain race, which will be held on May 15.
Next Monday, March 28, the registration period will open to participate in the fifth edition of the Lagartrail, the popular mountain race organized by the Sports area of the Agüimes City Council that runs through some of the most emblematic places in the municipality. . The test will be held on May 15, 2022 over three distances: a long one of 23 kilometers, another medium of 12 kilometers and a third with a shorter distance than the previous ones, just 8 kilometers, in which the participation of young people between 12 and 18 years old as long as they present the corresponding authorization from their parents or guardians.
Places are limited and will be assigned in strict order of registration. Registration must be made through the municipal website agüimes.es, where you can also find more information about the regulations of the test and the different routes, with the possibility of downloading the tracking of the three distances. Among its main attractions, in addition to the attentive care of the runner, is the environmental environment through which the test runs, which in its main distance goes up from the historic center of Agüimes towards Cueva Bermeja and descends along the old Camino de Las Bestias, in the Guayadeque ravine, allowing participants to enjoy unique natural landscapes.
The start and finish line will be located in the Agüimes Auditorium Theater square, where the different services available to the runner will be concentrated, from the luggage room to the rest, recovery and lunch areas, the latter scheduled at the end of the race, around at one in the afternoon. The registration price is 10 euros for the shortest distance of 8 kilometers, 15 euros for the 12 kilometers and 20 euros for the long distance of 23 kilometers.
