The end of the restrictions has led to athletes and families meeting again this Sunday in the plaza and parks of Ingenio and Carrizal
This Sunday, more than a thousand people were able to enjoy a day of festive and sporting atmosphere in the municipality with the celebration of the 29th La Candelaria Urban Cross, in the square and surrounding streets, and Games Sunday in the Pepa Aurora parks, from Ingenio, and Los Aromeros, from Carrizal. The end of the restrictions in this new stage allowed the celebration of both activities, in which the use of masks was recommended as a prevention measure.
The La Candelaria Cross brought together more than 800 athletes of all ages and also families, in a fun sports environment. A total of 600 participants managed to cross the finish line to the applause of the public.
Mayor Ana Hernández, who highlighted the good atmosphere and the good reception of both activities, explained that “they are the first that we celebrate without limitations in public spaces” and added that “although we are working to gradually recover the offer we had in the municipality before the pandemic we must do it without letting our guard down because we continue to live with covid.”
The Councilor for Sports, Mario Ramírez, stressed that the work in his area will be aimed "at recovering normality and activities for family audiences to promote physical activity and its benefits among our community."
For its part, the Sunday Games activity had hundreds of boys and girls who came to the Pepa Aurora and Los Aromeros parks to enjoy the first day of this initiative for free, which will be held every Sunday, until the end. of the month of June, simultaneously in both public spaces.
Games Sunday, which this year celebrates its seventh edition, offers inflatable attractions, storytellers, clowns and crafts, from 11.00:14.00 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. and aims to offer families and people who visit us an alternative for leisure and coexistence during the Sunday mornings without having to leave the municipality.
