On March 17, the SEPRONA of the Las Palmas Command investigated two people related to an animal protection association, for the alleged responsibility of animal abuse, by requesting money on social networks to provide veterinary care without This will be provided in a real way.
This investigation began thanks to citizen collaboration, which informed SEPRONA of these events at the end of last year, being able to verify how those responsible for an animal protection association located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which is usually dedicated to collecting abandoned animals and manage adoptions, made a series of message publications on social networks with images of a dog for which financial help was requested to receive vital veterinary assistance.
However, the animal ended up dying, which is why SEPRONA carried out the appropriate investigations to verify how health care had not been provided in a real time and manner. Furthermore, they did not prove in a timely manner that the steps were taken to provide the veterinary treatment, despite the fact that they received donations through the BIZUM system from numerous people who wanted to voluntarily collaborate with this association.
For all these reasons, an investigation was carried out for the alleged authorship of a crime of animal abuse, leaving the proceedings carried out at the judicial disposal of the corresponding courts of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
