The plan will be active from Thursday the 14th to Sunday the 17th and will have more than 30 Red Cross personnel, including workers and volunteers.
The mayor of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, Concepción Narváez Vega, and the first deputy mayor and Councilor for Security, Samuel Henríquez Quintana, visited the Red Cross posts located on the beaches of the municipality this morning, together with the person in charge of the organization in the area, Gustavo Rodríguez Verona.
During the visit, they were able to learn first-hand about the content and peculiarities of the Special Easter Device programmed by the Red Cross, which will be active from Thursday the 14th to Sunday the 17th. During those days they will have an increase in staff in the beaches, with more than 30 Red Cross personnel, including workers and volunteers.
The schedule will be the usual one, from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m., with the difference these days that there will be a checkpoint on each beach until 18 p.m., each checkpoint will have skippers and ambulances in case an incident occurs outside of normal hours. On the other hand, the beach service is reinforced with one more SVB ambulance and two days of them an SVA with a nurse, apart from the usual ambulance for the beach service. These ambulances will be intended for beach service, and for any need that requires their services, since they will remain under dynamic and static surveillance throughout the municipality, from El Castillo del Romeral to El Pajar.
In addition, there will also be a 4x4 rescue vehicle with AED, prepared for any intervention, whether land or sea, since it is equipped with a land lifeguard and a water lifeguard.
The main objective is to reinforce the beaches agreed upon with the City Council and expand coverage with roaming surveillance between El Pajar and Meloneras, and from San Agustín to the Castillo del Romeral pools. Along with the latter, there will also be a presence on the different beaches along the way, such as Pasito Blanco, Playa de las Mujeres or Triana.
It should be noted that all beaches have extensive signaling devices for the most conflictive areas, such as flags of different colors warning users of the sea conditions on the current day; some flags to signal any imminent danger in the area, such as the formation of whirlpools, increased currents, the appearance of jellyfish, manta rays or, in rocky areas, hedgehogs.
