The first of the performances, held today at the El Tablero Cultural Center, captivated the children who expressed their emotion at a work full of sensitivity
A total of 1.100 students from a dozen preschool, primary and compulsory education centers, located in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, participate from today until next Friday, in the Educational Theater Project to celebrate Book Day, titled 'Of Fable'. This is an initiative organized by the Department of Education of the Consistory, headed by Clara Martel.
This action is promoted by the well-known Canarian actor, Juan Carlos Hernández Rivero, 'Juanka', and its objective is to energize Book Week by "promoting culture and theater attendance among the little ones," highlighted Martel.
This same morning, some 214 girls and boys, along with the teaching staff of the Pepe Monagas and El Tablero CEIPs, witnessed and interacted with the play at the El Tablero Cultural Center. A very special morning, which infected the Area Councilor herself with the deep emotion expressed by the children present.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 19, the performance will take place at the Pancho Guerra Cultural Center in Tunte, with the participation of 47 students of the CEO of Tunte, along with the teaching staff.
On Wednesday, April 20, students from the CEIPs of Aldea Blanca, Las Dunas, Juan Grande, El Matorral, as well as CEO Pancho Guerra, will attend a new performance of 'De Fábula', this time at the Maspalomas Cultural Center . The expected attendance is 235 students.
In the same Maspalomas venue, but the next day, Thursday, the 21st, it is the turn of 270 spectators from the CEIPs of Cercados de Espino, Santa Águeda and San Fernando.
On Friday, April 22, a total of 331 CEIP Oasis students will attend the last of the scheduled performances, within the educational theater project to celebrate Book Day, 'De Fábula'.
Objective: Education in values
Before the start of the show, the students had the opportunity to speak with 'Aesop', the Greek author of fables, who is in charge of guiding the students inside the theater and gave them an introduction to what they would then see on stage. . At the end of the play, the students participated in a colloquium with the cast of actors.
The objectives of this innovative and original staging is to promote knowledge of the literary genre of the fable, introduce the little ones to the world of reading, present the theater as a magical and cultural space,
promote respect for animals and living beings in general, as well as
make students reflect by linking the moral of each fable with their daily life, thus promoting education in values.
In search of the 'tree of fables'
The synopsis of the work presents two brothers, Daniel and Cristina, who are searching for the famous “tree of fables.” On the way they bump into Fabiola and together they find the magic tree and the animals from the fables come to life.
Through challenges, games and songs, the little ones will live, along with the animals, many stories and will discover a great secret that Fabiola keeps. And it will be Daniel, Cristina, Fabiola who will discover the tree of fables with the popular morals of 'The Hare and the Tortoise', 'The Grasshopper and the Ant', 'The Lion and the Mouse' and many more. Each fable is an adventure, a learning experience.
