The Fire and Rescue Service of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has renewed and modernized its material and equipment to undertake the extinguishing of fires and other incidents in different scenarios.
Specifically, in recent weeks an electric fan, a thermal imaging camera, two sets of tools for opening doors of homes and damaged vehicles, and a gas detector or explosive meter have been acquired. All this material amounts to an investment of 24 thousand euros.
As part of the practical training exercises that the troops carry out periodically, a demonstration of the new supply of foam concentrate recently arrived at the Maspalomas Park was recently carried out.
Foam concentrate is a necessary product for the production of specific foam aimed at extinguishing fires caused, among others, by fuel spills, fires with liquid fuels, polar solvents, control of leaks from transportation of dangerous materials and other types of complex fires. .
In this practice (in attached video) different tests and maneuvers were developed to verify good production and effectiveness, in addition to continuing to verify the specific action procedures in this type of interventions.
From the Government Area of Transportation and Emergency Services, directed by Orlando Cabrera, work continues so that the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire Department and Civil Protection continue to optimize their preparation, improving emergency response procedures, with all the necessary resources, in order to guarantee the effectiveness and efficiency of the security of people, properties and facilities of the municipality.
