Around 10:00 a.m., the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing them that an elderly woman was in trouble at sea asking for help.
The woman of German origin who, at the initial moment of assistance, presented symptoms of serious drowning, was transferred by medical ambulance to Clínica Roca.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
Red Cross Beach Service personnel rescued the affected woman and another person who had gone to her aid and took them to the shore.
Upon arrival at the scene, the SUC team assessed and assisted the affected woman who had semi-drowned and, once stabilized, took charge of her transfer in serious condition to the aforementioned hospital.
The rest of the displaced emergency resources collaborated in resolving the incident.
