The teachers and students of the Municipal Music Schools of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Agüimes and Ingenio participated this weekend in the First Meeting of Municipal Schools of the Southeast at the Municipal Athenaeum in Vecindario. The meeting served to exchange pedagogical experiences and for the students and teachers of Ingenio and Agüimes to learn about the facilities of the Municipal School of Music of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. A concert in which students from the three municipal schools participated put an end to this first meeting.
Throughout Saturday morning, students from the three schools were able to receive open classes in piano, flute, trumpet, sax, clarinet, percussion, cello, violin, music and movement, and music therapy.
The Councilor for Education, Culture, Communication and Identity, Yaiza Pérez, highlights that “this initiative proposed by the Department of Culture of Santa Lucía de Tirajana was very successful, because the students, teachers and families of the three schools in the Southeast participated.” . The councilor adds that “we are very happy with the participation and involvement of the students and teachers.”
The 'Notas al aire' meeting ended with a concert outside the Municipal Athenaeum with students from the three schools, with the Ingenio Municipal Band and with the UTI ensemble from the Santa Lucía de Tirajana Municipal School. Next year, Ingenio or Agüimes will organize the second meeting.
