Mogán recognizes the former chief commissioner of the National Police in SBT, Eduardo Manuel Caudet

This Friday, May 6, a commemorative event took place for the career of Eduardo Manuel Caudet García as head of the Local Police Station of the National Police Force of Maspalomas and in general for the 45 years of service provided. Recently retired, Caudet has received a commemorative plaque from the mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, in front of fellow representatives of the National Police, Civil Guard, Local Police, Civil Protection and authorities. 

 

 

 

 

Although the municipality of Mogán is located outside the demarcation in which the National Police of San Bartolomé de Tirajana operates, the mayor explained that the relationship with Caudet has strengthened in recent years, especially as a result of the migration crisis in 2020 that led to the overcrowding of migrants at the Arguineguín Dock, since the Corps was present from beginning to end. Also the figure of the commissioner himself, a great support for Bueno then. “They were very devastating moments. We were practically alone and all the help we needed did not arrive,” he noted. 

 

He also highlighted the existing coordination work with the Mogán Local Police, which has used the National Police facilities located in the neighboring municipality to carry out some training courses for the agents. “It was fair to make this recognition,” said the mayor, emphasizing the importance “of the unity and coordination that must exist between the State Security Corps and Forces to provide a greater guarantee of security to the population.”

 

 

The honoree, for his part, said he felt “very grateful.” “The mayor has had a very good collaboration with me from the beginning, she received me well, she has always invited me to her events and I am very grateful because she did not expect it,” he said. Regarding his professional career, Caudet has assured that he will remain only with the good that he has achieved. “You forget the bad,” he said. 

 

The mayor also presented a recognition to the head of the Main Post of the Civil Guard of Puerto Rico, Lieutenant Juan Manuel Rodríguez del Moral, also key to adequate coordination of services, as well as Moisés González Vidal, new head of the Maspalomas National Police Station. 

 

The event, held in the Session Hall of the Mogán Town Hall, was attended by, among others, the first deputy mayor and Security Councilor of Mogán, Mencey Navarro, the president of the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs (FEHT). ), José María Mañaricúa, the vice president of the FEHT, Nicolás Villalobos, the head of the Mogán Local Police, Jorge Alemán, and the head of the Mogán Civil Protection Volunteer Group, Wenceslao Hernández.
