Attendees will be able to take photographs of different areas of natural, landscape and archaeological interest that the route has.

On July 21, the Maspalomas Summer University has organized a hiking excursion along the Camino de Santiago in Gran Canaria, in which participants will be able to take photographs along the 21 kilometers of the selected route. The objective of this activity is to get to know some places of natural, landscape and archaeological interest, such as the Conde Aqueduct, the aqueduct ditch, Los Many Bridges, the protected landscape of Fataga, Gitagana, Maipés and Arteara palm grove, Caserones archaeological center , the Water Mill and the Los Cazorla y Tunte Mill.

Hikers will meet at 06.30:07 a.m. at the meeting point, located in the Machacadora (El Lomo) parking lot, and will travel by bus to the beginning of the walk, which will begin at 00:15 a.m., to avoid the high temperatures of the day. The hiking route will end around XNUMX p.m.

Registration for this excursion, which costs 25 euros, can be done through the website: https://www.universidadveranomaspalomas.org/materias/99/ . Registration includes round-trip bus transportation from the meeting point to the start and end of the excursion.

The walking route will be 21 kilometers along the Camino de Santiago, with an estimated duration of 3 and a half hours, without stops. Hikers will be able to take photographs along the way and will stop for food. The maximum elevation will be 7 meters above sea level. During the journey, participants will be able to buy water and food as they pass through Arteara (at the camel center), Fataga and Tunte.

It is recommended to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for this hiking activity, since the ground is sometimes slippery and uneven and you walk on gravel. Bring plenty of water, fruit, energy bars, nuts (dehydrated fruit is best).

The XXX edition of the Maspalomas Summer University is organized by the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Rights, Equality, Diversity and Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands, Casa África and the Social Council of the ULPGC.
