10 production companies and advertising agencies from all over the country will participate

The Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster and Proexca, a public company attached to the Canary Islands Government's Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment, have organized the second edition of the Canary Islands Advertising Film Forum . This forum, which will take place from July 4th to 7th in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, will bring together executives from production companies and advertising agencies in the Canary Islands and mainland Spain, as well as representatives from collaborating public institutions. The Forum is supported by the Tenerife and Gran Canaria Film Commissions and the Spanish Association of Advertising Production Companies (APCP).

The aim of these days is to encourage the main national advertising agencies to get to know the Canary Islands production companies and service and content creation companies, as well as to visit some of the most representative natural spaces of Gran Canaria and Tenerife and other locations that can be turned into sets, to carry out any type of filming of advertising spots or photo shoot.

In this second edition, for which applications closed on June 23, 10 national companies and 16 companies from Gran Canaria and Tenerife will participate. The local companies will not only participate in the scheduled networking sessions but will also be able to join the familiarization trip planned for both islands, with the aim of developing closer relationships with the representatives of the national companies visiting the islands.

The agencies and production companies that will travel as guests from different parts of the Peninsula, especially Madrid and Barcelona and some of them with offices in cities in Europe and Latin America, are Harold Entertainment, Antiestático Europa, Landia, Agosto, Bambina Films, Garage Film, David The Agency, Only 925, Craft and la Joya Producciones. In addition, the Forum will have the presence of the general director of the APCP, Adriana Piquet, who will lead a talk for local companies.

The 16 Canarian production companies that will participate in this second Advertising Film Forum are, for Gran Canaria: Magnetic Films, Seven Islands, Lucky Island Films, Macaronesia Films, Volcano Films, Alventio Audiovisuales, Las Hormigas Negras, Islas Producciones and Welab and for Tenerife: Solworks, La Creme Films, Canary Islands Productions, Locationow, Glow Films Entertainment, Boudika and El Hombre Invisible Films.

The first day of this second Advertising Film Forum will take place on Monday, July 4th, in Gran Canaria. The program will begin at 20:00 PM with a reception attended by representatives from the collaborating institutions. On Tuesday the 5th, the day will start with breakfast and a networking session between the invited national production companies, local production companies, and representatives from institutions in Gran Canaria.

On Wednesday, July 6, the program will take place in Tenerife, where national production companies will participate alongside local businesses in an official reception at 20:00 p.m. The morning of July 7 will begin with breakfast and networking.

The Canary Islands stand out for their conditions as a natural set, for the variety of their landscapes and the good climate they have throughout the year, in addition to the tax benefits offered for filming on the Islands. The Archipelago has a wide network of companies and professionals to carry out the production of all types of filming.

In Gran Canaria and Tenerife, according to 2021 data, provided by both offices of the Film Commission, there were 178 advertising productions, of which 90 were in Gran Canaria and 88 in Tenerife, with an estimated investment of more than 12 million euros. Every year the number of international brands that choose the Canary Islands destination to carry out their productions increases. Big brands such as Porche, Pronovias, Zara, Volkswagen, Hiunday, Honda, Luis Vuitton or Ives Saint Laurent, had locations in Gran Canaria and Tenerife as their venues in 2021.

Expectations for this year are very high, as in the first five months, brands such as Loewe, Asus, Hermès, and Adolfo Domínguez have already launched their campaigns on both islands. The production services for these campaigns, managed by international agencies and production companies, are handled by local production companies that also directly produce commercials for advertising campaigns by both island and national brands.

The first edition of the Advertising Film Forum brought together 29 local companies and eight national production companies that work for major clients and brands such as Audi, Toyota, Mapfre, Burger King, UNICEF, Nespresso, La Caixa, and Nestlé. All participants highlighted the islands' great potential for advertising shoots, both for the variety of their natural landscapes and the locations they visited, and for the skilled personnel, technical teams, and service providers offered by Canarian companies in the sector.
