This Tuesday, Servatur interrupted his traditional absence from political events in the south of Gran Canaria to support in Las Palmas the return of José Manuel Soria to Canarian politics from which, he said, he has never left. "Active politics is exciting, but it requires 100% dedication." Among attendees, it sounded like sarcasm when Soria said that "in these six years I have not considered returning to active politics for a second" given that he operates as a consultant for companies with interests in AA.PP.
Soria gave a conference with the former head of Adriza International, a fund that Tressis Bank had to merge, Daniel Lacalle, who was an advisor to Pablo Casado (PP). The Gran Canaria hotel company left the perimeter of southern Gran Canaria to share sponsorship with the tobacco company Philip Morris.
At the event there were hardly any company executives born in the south of Gran Canaria and the former minister said that "there is a serious problem with the evolution of per capita income in the last decade" due to the "absence of reforms" although "there has been counter-reform in misdirection". Soria affirmed that "it does not seem that the Government is going to make structural reforms", that "it will go in the opposite direction" and whoever comes to manage the central Executive will have "a very arduous task and with a more difficult job than the one that fell to Rajoy in 2012".
At the end of 2021 Servatur hired José Manuel Soria as a member of the board of directors. Servatur acquired the entire capital in 2018 from a group of Canarian investors led by Santiago Fernández Caballero. Servatur is controlled by Kai Mikaelssen and Fredensborg, by the Norwegian Ivar Tollefsen. Each one has 50% of the shares of the parent company.
