Taught by Roque Cabrera, Canarian producer, composer and performer, from July 11 to 22
The San Fernando de Maspalomas Municipal Music School will host the 'Musitec' course that will offer the basic theoretical and practical knowledge to create electroacoustic and electronic productions. It will be taught by Roque Cabrera, producer and composer, within the program of the XXX Summer University of Maspalomas.
This course, according to its coordinator, tries to combine the musical creative potential of each participant with tools and software programs and technology. It is aimed at DJs and directors, producers and managers of any type of shows and musical projects, both in their production phase and in their live performance.
This course, which will run from July 11th to 22nd, will be held at the San Fernando de Maspalomas Municipal School of Music. Registration for this course (€20), which will take place from July 11th to 22nd at the Maspalomas Cultural Center, can be done through the website: https://www.universidadveranomaspalomas.org/materias/83/ . Participants are advised to bring a laptop.
The Musitec course is an educational proposal that combines current technology and computing, with musical knowledge and analog instrumentation to start creating productions, both electroacoustic and electronic.
“Using specialized software for live production and performance, we will be able to see the full extent of our creative potential, whether through electronic devices (with MIDI signals) or by using real instruments or sampling techniques ,” explained Roque Cabrera. Participants will learn about all the types of hardware that can be used “to unleash their imagination,” both for the production and live performance phases. They will learn to apply the software's various functions, “making this tool our workspace for everything we can imagine,” according to Cabrera.
Roque Cabrera is a Canarian producer, composer and performer. He started at the Las Palmas Conservatory of Gran Canaria and trained at the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra and the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya. He has worked in different areas of music, from classical music in a symphony orchestra, through jazz, funk and Latin productions to ending up doing electronic production.
