Nutritionists, ULPGC teachers and journalists analyze 'Scientific dissemination and the media'

The generation of scientific dissemination content will be analyzed in the new dissemination media: YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, podcast and others.

 

A group of experts made up of nutritionists, ULPGC teachers and journalists analyze 'Scientific dissemination and the media' in a course, from July 11 to 13, which is part of the program of the XXX Summer University of Maspalomas .

 

The objective of this course is to reflect on the complicated relationship that is established between the process of communicating or disseminating scientific knowledge and the necessary adaptation to the different formats offered by the media and the generation of scientific dissemination content in the media will be analyzed. new media (Youtube, Twitch, Twitter, podcast), depending on the audience.

On Monday, July 11, Eduardo Quevedo Gutiérrez, director of Educational Innovation and Teacher Training at the ULPGC, will speak, offering the conference 'Institutional assessment of the scientific dissemination activity of academic and research staff. Vision from educational innovation and research'. Next, Paola Llinares, a journalist from Radio Canaria, will speak with the presentation 'Disseminating history in Insular Episodes'.

 

On Tuesday, July 12, it will be the turn of Anastasia Luisa Porta Vales, professor of Didactics of Experimental Sciences at the ULPGC, with the presentation 'New narratives of digital dissemination for new audiences', and Juan Luis 

 

 

Jiménez, professor of Applied Economics at the ULPGC and editor of 'Nothing is free', with the conference 'Disseminating Economics (or how to explain that nothing is free)'.

 

The day on Wednesday, July 13, will begin with the interventions of Cristina Ruano Rodríguez, professor of Nutrition at the ULPGC, who will speak about 'Scientific dissemination in the media: challenge or reality?', and Jacob Morales Mateos , professor of Prehistory at the ULPGC, with 'Disseminating research in archaeology: from scientific publication to Twitter'.

 

The XXX edition is organized by the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, in collaboration with the Department of Social Rights, Equality, Diversity and Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands , Casa África and the Social Council of the ULPGC.
