The XXX Summer University of Maspalomas offers a course to learn about the importance of archaeological tourism in Gran Canaria, which will be held from July 18 to 23 at the Maspalomas Cultural Center. This course will be taught by Marco Antonio Moreno, co-director and manager of the company Tibicena, Archeology and Heritage, and a graduate in History from the ULPGC.
“Archaeological tourism is considered a tourist typology. It has not always been easy to make archaeological science compatible with the tourism industry, so it is important to establish synergies between the two, since it can be a source of income that contributes to the preservation, research and conservation of archaeological heritage," explained the coordinator of this course. .

The program will reveal the differences between Archeology and Archaeological Heritage. It will analyze the management of archaeological Heritage in Gran Canaria, the relationships between tourism and archaeological heritage, the importance of Heritage Interpretation and the means and interpretive techniques. In addition, the expert will present the methodology for creating interpretive itineraries.
