The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has dedicated 30.000 euros so that the Canarias Jazz & Más International Festival moves to Maspalomas, which will be the stage where it will be held again on the Explanada del Faro with a program that includes performances by Nate Smith + KINFOLK and Sumrrá and Samantha Fish and La Local Jazz Band; and in Playa Santiago (La Gomera) Gabriela Suárez Trío and Sumrrá will perform.
The Canarias Jazz & Más International Festival once again has the support of the Government of the Canary Islands through the Vice-Ministry of Culture and Cultural Heritage as the main sponsor; council of Gran Canaria; Tourism of Gran Canaria and San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Elder Museum of Science and Technology, the Paraninfo of the ULPGC, the Convent of Santo Domingo in La Laguna, Espacio R, Café Teatro Rayuela and Fábrica La Isleta.
This weekend the Local Jazz Band performed, a project created in 2008 by Miguel Ramírez and Miqui Delgado, with the spirit of promoting and contributing to the discovery of the extensive repertoire throughout its history. Educational concerts for young students and the general public, as well as special shows featuring great jazz masters or their different eras, have been the fundamental objective of this project.
