This seminar, coordinated by Germán Santana, wants to offer a vision of the perspectives and possibilities that employability presents in Spain and, in particular, in the Canary Islands for people from Africa, and the possibilities that people from Africa currently have. from Spain and the Canary Islands in Africa.

The program on Thursday, July 21, will begin with a presentation by Eduardo Mesegué Bonet of GB Food, who will speak on 'GB Foods in Africa: Perspectives and Experiences'. Following this, Mame Cheikh Mbaye , co-founder and president of the Canary Islands Reception Network, will discuss 'Obstacles and Achievements in the Labor Market for African Migrants'. Finally, Sara Mba Costa, Senior Key Account Executive at the Martínez Group, and Paula Carroza, Human Resources Director at the Martínez Group, will speak.
Despite the high unemployment rate that exists in both territories, thousands of people are hired every year, even in the most serious years of the economic crisis. It must be taken into account that in the last decade the Canary Islands have had one of the highest percentages of economic growth in the entire State and that most African countries register spectacular growth, above 5%.
Expectations for the future are even better and, therefore, relations with Africa should not be seen as a 'problem', since precisely mobility and employability can serve as an economic engine of mutual development and contribute to increased improvement in the living conditions of its inhabitants. For Germán Santana, “in an increasingly globalized world, work connections and the rapid satisfaction of labor demand become a necessity that entails improvements in qualifications and reciprocal knowledge of the Canarian-African realities.”
