In total, and since the beginning of the alert, the Canary Islands have recorded 92 positive cases and three under study, of which one is probable and two are suspicious.
The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has notified two cases of monkeypox since yesterday without any new ones being studied. Therefore, since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there have been 92 confirmed cases, of which 62 were detected in Gran Canaria, 28 in Tenerife and two in Fuerteventura.
All active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up from Primary Care.
Thus, the confirmed and notified cases in the Canary Islands since the beginning of the alert and until today are as follows:
– 92 confirmed cases, 62 in Gran Canaria, 28 in Tenerife and two in Fuerteventura.
– A probable case, pending confirmation, reported in Gran Canaria.
– Two suspected cases, pending confirmation, one reported in Tenerife and another in Gran Canaria.
The Ministry of Health's protocol classifies cases between probable and suspicious depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if they only present clinical criteria and in which case they are considered a suspicious case.
