Mourning in tourism for the death of a Construplan worker

Yurena Vega Thursday, July 21, 2022

The board of directors of Servatur together with the chain's staff, social and institutional agents expressed this Wednesday their pain and mourning for the death of an employee who operated for Construplan in a hotel of the hotel chain in the south of Gran Canaria. This is a 52-year-old father of a family from Telde and his documentation stated that he was a transporter. There is an employee named Ali, a native of Morocco and living in Gran Canaria, with a reserved prognosis.

The workers were putting in hours at the Puerto Azul Hotel in Servatur ahead of its opening before the winter season of 2022. A wall fell at around 15:15 p.m. and the employees had no escape. Several ambulances from the Canary Islands Emergency Service went to the construction site as well as firefighters in case the accident generated a greater impact. The SUC air unit operated from Amadores.
