The vice-rector for Internationalization, Mobility and International Projection of the ULPGC participated in the seminar 'Mobility and employability Africa-Canary Islands / Canary Islands-Africa'

“Internationalization is a strategic axis at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria,” said Jin Tayra, vice-rector of Internationalization, Mobility and International Projection of the ULPGC in the seminar 'Mobility and employability Africa-Canary Islands / Canary Islands-Africa', which It is held at the XXX Summer University of Maspalomas.
Tayra stated that “UNESCO has recognized internationalization as one of the central themes for the new trends of the university for 2030”, in this regard she highlighted that “the ULPGC is a young, European university and is located on a bridge between continents.” what the Canary Islands are like.” Furthermore, he added that one of his greatest bets “is to create international networks.”
Jin Tayra explained that since his vice-rectorship they have signed “more than twenty international strategic agreements in just one year” and highlighted the incorporation of projects such as “the paperless Erasmus”, which consists of “digitizing all the agreements and conventions signed between faculties of Europe".
The vice-rector also addressed the initiative of the International Weeks that they carry out and that "consists of a way of promoting that the people of the Canary Islands begin to see internationalization as something natural", and that is that "in the Islands we have fifty consulates and we must give them visibility so that their culture, their language or their gastronomy are known.”
Tayra recalled that the ULPGC “runs three mobility programs such as Erasmus, SICUE and Mundus”, and is in charge of the 'Women for Africa' project, “an opportunity for African women to have an online master's degree financed” .

Delgado stated that Mauritania "is a country with great development and has all the opportunities in the world to invest", for a company to operate there "you have to strengthen ties, eliminate stereotypes, listen and share." Furthermore, he highlighted that Africa is an unknown continent that is feared, but “it is the present and the future of the Canary Islands.”
The journalist highlighted that "transport and mobility are key for there to be trade, economic relations and training", but the visa "sometimes poses a problem for this."
In turn, Carroza addressed the importance of mixing cultures in his business work, "at Supermercados Martines, we wanted to modernize management in Guinea three years ago through new computer schemes, but it was a great failure because we did not know how to integrate the cultural elements of there", and the fact is that "we miss finding a pool of professionals who know both cultures and serve as a bridge to open markets."
For this reason they hired Sara Mba Costa, who said that “they incorporated me into the team due to the lack of understanding between the Canary Islands and Africa”, since we have “very different ways of working”, adding that they see her as “a figure "an intermediary that is impartial between the two parties so that the project goes forward."
