The Maspalomas Gran Canaria Consortium held the July Governing Board today, where it reported, among other issues, the execution of the different projects carried out in the last two years, which will amount to a total investment of about 12 million euros at the end of summer.
This investment includes the Subsidy Plan of the 2020 Strategic Plan that the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, through the Tourism Board, signed on October 1, 2020, with a total investment of about 10 million euros, through the which a total of nine actions will be carried out.
Among the actions carried out, where more than 4 million euros have been invested, would be: the rehabilitation of the Meloneras promenade, the air conditioning work for the Ernesto Hernández swimming pool, the asphalt and lighting program, a first phase of improvements in the accesses of the beaches and the agreement with TRAGSA to prepare the project and work of the landscape conditioning of the Palmeral Oasis of Maspalomas. In addition, actions related to health improvements due to the pandemic are also included.
Currently, the Maspalomas Consortium is about to finalize the contract for the access and parking improvements at Playa del Águila, which will involve an investment of around 300.000 euros in the area and the tender for the work has been published. of Transformation of the municipal market of Maspalomas, with an amount of 7.231.874,22 euros.
At another point, other projects to be executed in the medium term have been reported. On the one hand, the status of the Toboplaya rehabilitation works, which already has a project and has a budget of about 438.542 euros, in charge of the Cabildo's Strategic Plan and, on the other, the project to improve the accessibility of the coastline. of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, valued at 800.000 euros.
In this same Meeting, in addition, two budget modifications have been approved to carry out actions in the Tony Gallardo park, as well as provide finances to launch new projects, with the aim of improving public spaces and providing a quality mark to the park. destination Maspalomas Costa Canaria. Among them, the repaving of the last phase of Paseo de Meloneras, between Norway Street and the Meloneras Shopping Center.
