San Bartolomé de Tirajana will become, at the end of next October, a strategic point in the country with the celebration of the 'I Re-Education Forum. New challenges. New Paradigms', since it will bring together the best national and international experts in educational matters.
The Congress, which will take place between October 25 and 27, is organized by the Department of Education of the Consistory, whose owner is Clara Martel and also has the collaboration of the Departments of Education and Health of the Canary Islands Government, Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). The venue will be at the Expomeloneras Congress Palace and more than half a thousand participants are expected to attend.
Conferences, presentations, performances, workshops, work tables and posters constitute the amalgamation of the different media in which the different fields of the wide and complex universe of education in Spain are analyzed.
“Without a doubt, launching this forum has been a real challenge for this City Council. For the first time, we will turn San Bartolomé de Tirajana into a point of national attention to learn about the challenges and objectives of education in a global way,” highlighted Mayor Conchi Narváez.
The list of participants includes, among others, the prestigious Mario Alonso Puig, trained in Mind-Body Medicine and Positive Psychology at Harvard University, who will be in charge of delivering the inaugural conference entitled 'Education as a space of possibility in a uncertain and changing world.
Other speakers are: Nélida Zaitegui. president of the School Council of Euskadi. 'Educate without recipes', is the title of the presentation by Mar Romera, internationally renowned pedagogue and psychopedagogue, specialist in emotional intelligence; César Bona, professor and writer, Honorary Magister Award for the Public School Platform; José Ramón Gamo, founding partner of CADE Centers (Center for Attention to Educational Diversity), and Francesco Tonucci, educational psychologist and cartoonist, world leader in the field of education.
Other concepts and subjects to be discussed and debated during the forum are: Migrations and [WITH]living, the path towards interculturality; Diversity, education and inclusion: Transitions from childhood and identities; Mental health at an early age; as well as the participation of students through the “Active Citizenship” Project of the Canary Islands School Council and families through the AMPAS Gáldos Federation and the Fanuesca AMPAS Federation and the San Bartolomé de Tirajana AMPAS Commission; DUAL FP as a new professionalizing educational resource and access to the labor market complete the thematic proposals that will be addressed.
“We also wanted to give maximum prominence to the entities and personalities that work in the Canary Islands, since we are a national reference in terms of educational innovation,” highlighted the head of the area Clara Martel.
