The entity will offer a free financing system to provide solar panels to 1.000 homes in the south of Gran Canaria

The seminar 'Turn off the light to see the light' will be held on July 28 at the Maspalomas Cultural Center

The XXX Summer University of Maspalomas and CANALUZ will hold, on Thursday, July 28, an information day in which a group of professionals will answer all the questions that users have about saving on the electricity bill, good habits for energy savings and the best low consumption rates, as well as the importance and advantages of implementing the use of renewable energies to turn your home into a sustainable and more energy efficient place.

CANALUZ, a leading Canarian company in the regional clean energy market, wants to collaborate with this campaign through this important contribution, which should be complete decarbonization of the residential housing stock and the non-hotel sector in the south of Gran Canaria, within the program European Sustainable Tourism, thus complying with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and in line with the commitment of the Government of Spain to promote the figure of local energy communities.

In this campaign, CANALUZ will offer a free financing system for the decarbonization of 1.000 homes in the South of Gran Canaria, the tourist area with the highest number of hours of sunshine per year.

Thanks to this promotion, unprecedented in the Canary Islands, the first thousand people who come to the seminar 'Turn off the light to see the light', which will be held at the Maspalomas Cultural Center, will be able to benefit from this CANALUZ offer that will allow them provide their homes with photovoltaic panels in the south of Gran Canaria.

Registration for the seminar 'Turn off the light to see the light' (5 euros), which will be held at the Maspalomas Cultural Center (Avenida de Tejeda, 72, San Fernando), from 10:30 a.m. to 20:30 p.m., can be done on the website: https://www.universidadveranomaspalomas.org/materias/103/

At the event, Lorenzo Rafael Muñoz González, industrial engineer and technical director of Canaluz, will propose different practical ways to reduce our electricity bill and will talk about issues related to sustainable energy: 'How to save on your electricity bill? Tricks', 'How to act to reduce your electricity bill?', 'Energy efficiency customs and integration of solar energy collection elements in structures: solar roof tiles, canopies, solar curves, solar façade coverings', among other issues .

Next, Muñoz will explain 'How to decarbonize the Canary Islands economy? Integrated projects. Investment models'. Then, Rafael González Alonso, CEO of Izpitek Solar-Solarface, and José Ramón Zagalaz Jiménez, account manager for renewables at Deutsche Bank in Las Palmas, will focus on ' Financing tools and subsidies for self-consumption and energy efficiency installations in homes and businesses'.

Later, Lorenzo Rafael Muñoz will speak again to talk about the 'Strategies for Canarian decarbonization'. In the same way, Rafael González and José Ramón Zagalaz will address the importance of 'Photovoltaic installations for self-consumption and discharge into the grid'.

Finally, a debate will take place about 'Industry as a basis for the energy revolution and sovereignty of the Canary Islands' between Javier Santracruz Cano, doctor in Economics and specialist in Macroeconometrics and Finance; Óscar Bermejo García, founder and vice president of the Association for the Energy Transition; and moderated by Lorenzo Rafael Muñoz.

These initiatives respond to the exorbitant price of traditional, fossil and polluting energy, and the difficulties that exist for the energy transition to reach all families. For this reason, CANALUZ, within its environmental commitment and the benefit that this campaign represents to avoid contaminating our planet, has wanted to make the possibility of equipping their homes with solar panels available to all economies, which represents savings in your consumer bill, with very important financing conditions.
