Known as the 'Little Clothes', they have been an active part of the adult hifi stopover galas at these celebrations

The Mogán City Council wanted to recognize last night, within the framework of the Mogán Beach Festival, the involvement in the hifi stopover galas of the Déniz family, a native of the seaside neighborhood where its members are also known as the 'Poca Ropa'. For twenty-two years they have been the creators of the most fun nights of these celebrations but, this 2022, despite the return to normality of the Carmen events, the Escala Gala in Hifi has not been held due to the recent death of two brothers of this family, Manolo and Carmelo. The evening continued with the show 'Una noche con Chavela'.

The Plaza de Las Gañanías enjoyed a fun and emotional meeting last night in which tribute was paid to the Déniz brothers and sisters, known in the municipality for being the architects of the classic Hifi Scale Gala for adults in Playa de Mogán, which It takes place during the Carmen Festival. The 'Poca Ropa', with an innate talent for humor and acting, have been making the residents of the seaside neighborhood laugh for 22 years, who on this occasion gathered to remember moments they experienced and show their gratitude.

During the event, a video with images from previous years of the scale was projected on hifi, which filled the square with laughter and applause. Next, the Councilor for Social Policy, Tania Alonso, took the stage to address a few words to the honorees, expressing her emotion and thanking the Déniz present there “for contributing as a family, for many years, joy to the Playa de Mogán festivities ”. Alonso also emphasized the need to preserve traditions. “It is us, the neighbors, who must not let the essence of our festivities be lost. We hope this is not an end, but rather a break to recharge our batteries and return next year again,” she stated.

Next, the mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, attending the event along with several members of the Government group, presented a commemorative plaque to the family and took advantage of the moment to thank the 'Poca Ropa' for so many moments and joys. “We have taken a break, but I do ask you to please continue if the spirit is with you, especially the second and third generations,” she said.

Neighbor Raquel Perdomo, who has been documenting neighborhood festivities with her camera for years, also took the stage to give the Déniz family a collage of images from her participation in the Escala en Hifi. The family, for its part, recognized the support of the Municipal Corporation and gave a bouquet of flowers to Perdomo. As a farewell, the group launched several balloons into the sky with the names of family members who are no longer here.

After the recognition, it was the turn of the musical show 'Una noche con Chavela', which offered a tour of the life of the Mexican artist from an intimate perspective. Performed by the singer and actress Thania Gil, and with a careful staging, the audience enjoyed this performance, the work of the playwright Fabián Lomio, who ended up bringing a Chavela as famous as she was unknown.
