The Economic Promotion Society of Gran Canaria (SPEGC), dependent on the Island Council, in coordination with the Island Energy Council of Gran Canaria and the Technological Institute of the Canary Islands (ITC), and the collaboration of the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Government of Spain, launches the second edition of the training program Marine Renewable Energy.
In total, ten courses will be taught with the aim of improving the training and specialization of professionals linked to R&D&I activities linked to the exploitation of marine renewable energies.
“Gran Canaria has been decisively betting on sustainable development for years and, in order to become an international benchmark for 'eco-island', we must promote specialized training that allows our professionals to be at the forefront of renewable energies,” he highlighted. the managing director of the SPEGC, Cosme García, who emphasized the natural characteristics of the Island that make possible the development of projects linked to wind or marine energy in our territory.
Ocean energies It is the first course of this edition that will start next October and will last until May 2023. In total, two hundred training hours that will be taught in the afternoon to facilitate attendance.

The different training actions of the marine renewable energy program will be taught by professionals from ITC, IH Cantabria, University of Belfast, Elittoral, BlueNewables or CETECIMA, among other entities linked to the marine renewable energy sector. The courses included in this initiative are:
