The Maspalomas International Carnival next year 2023 will be dedicated to Latin Rhythms. This has been decided by the citizens who wanted to participate in the popular vote called by the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council and whose deadline ended at midnight yesterday, after eight days of public exhibition, with three proposals: 'Paris City of Love ', 'Seabeds' and 'Latin Rhythms' which, finally, was the most voted option, with 52%.
In second place was the allegory 'Seabeds', with 29,4% of the votes, while 18,6% went for Paris, City of Love.
It is the third consecutive year in which the allegory of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana carnivals is chosen by citizens through popular voting.
“We wanted, once again, for the residents of the municipality, as well as any citizen of the Island, to choose the theme of these festivities, which are a reference for safety, tolerance, civility and fun throughout Europe. "said Mayor Conchi Narváez after announcing the result of the vote.
Therefore, the Maspalomas International Carnival of 2023, which will be held from March 9 to 19, as was unanimously approved by the municipal council last July, already has its allegory.
“With the dates and the theme closed, the tourism sector can now schedule the promotion of the Maspalomas International Carnival in the next tourist fairs with sufficient advance notice,” said the councilor.
