Neighbors of Mogán, the economic situation of the municipality is delicate, we believe that it is very important to convey it so that it is known with maximum transparency.
Since, the current government group has left the public coffers without any remainder (savings) and this means that they will end the year with more than 15 million in loans. 15 million euros in loans that we will all be paying in the municipality of Mogán.
With this panorama, some of the star measures of the legislature could not have been carried out. How was the allocation of 1.000.000 euros to the employment plan in the first year of office. Or if at this moment we were to experience a new emergency situation due to a new Pandemic or another emergency situation similar to the one experienced, it would not be possible to allocate the 3.000.000 euros as was done in the pandemic to emergency aid and the self-employed. Nor will it be possible to cope if more credit has to be provided to some of the works underway (something that is more than likely due to the post-war price rise), the reality is that THERE ARE NO FUNDS due to terrible economic management. They have not known how to manage how to spend them to cover their backs in the event of unforeseen events. And that is a serious problem.
From the PSOE of Mogán we are very concerned about this economic situation that has our stability “hanging by a thread.” It has been so much so that in the last plenary session we have placed great emphasis on asking our Mayor and her government group about the economic situation of the City Council, with no capacity to respond and, as always, throwing out the ball. When we ask about the remainder, our Mayor literally looks the other way, and she passes the question to the Council's Finance Councilor.
Of course, on festivals, the Mogán City Council has spent 40% more than the budget allocated to celebrations for this year, of course dismantling the remainder. And as we well know, a large part of this expense has been destined to finance the festivals of Playa de Mogán and Arguineguín, (we already know that San Antonio was lackluster), the poor economic management is obvious, ....
This economic waste and lack of spending forecast can be interpreted in several ways: On the one hand, an attempt is being made to carry out a political pre-campaign with public money from the institution, to favor the formation of the government team led by Mrs. Bueno, in the next and close electoral appointment. On the other hand, for another reason, it could also seem that attention is being diverted "with parties" from the important issues that we have been able to learn about these days. Issues such as: Settle the contract with Caseur and face a cost for the City Council that has involved more than €3,18 of public money. Does the mayor know everything that can be done with that figure? We do not doubt that she knows all the actions and actions that could be done with more than €3 million, we know that she is a person who knows about resource management. But... above all, in a situation of emergency and uncertainty that practically the entire planet is experiencing, with issues such as a war in Ukraine, a post-pandemic crisis or a climate crisis. It is not understood how to prioritize liquidating the contract with Caseur as if it were a social emergency, having had an unfavorable technical report.
The question arises about how important the expert judgment of the auditor of this City Council is for this government group and this Mayor? because she gives the impression, from her actions, that she prefers to comply with a contract with suspicious irregularities, putting the City Council's accounts at risk, rather than listen to the Institution's professionals. The Moganeros and the Moganeras deserve an explanation about the management of their accounts. Because public money does not belong to the government group, public money belongs to the inhabitants of Mogán.
Another issue to highlight would be that of the 30 million euros that we had as a remainder, there is just over half a million left. In just over 3 years, more than 95 percent of the remaining funds that we should use for emergencies have been spent. Good management consisting of having savings so that if unforeseen events arise, we can deal with them; It seems unheard of that these unforeseen events have to do with parties, works of dubious execution and payments without technical recommendation.
With those more than 3 million euros we could, for example, clean up one of our main beaches closed due to pollution.
And leave something for parties, of course, we would have even been able to bring a top-level artist to the San Antonio parties.
