Around 20:43 p.m. yesterday, the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert from the staff of the Tunte basic life support ambulance in which they reported the fall of a stone on a hunter in Lomito de Taidía, municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
The 1-1-2 immediately activates the necessary emergency resources, the SUC personnel and a volunteer nurse assist the injured person on site, a 51-year-old man with severe multiple trauma, tele-assisted by the coordinating doctor of the SUC until the arrival of the SAR helicopter. Firefighters have collaborated in locating and rescuing the affected person.
The SAR helicopter proceeds to rescue the injured person who, after being immobilized, is transferred to the helisurface of the Doctor Negrín University Hospital and there a medicalized ambulance from the SUC awaits, whose health personnel assist the affected person and evacuate him to the aforementioned hospital center.
The services activated by CECOES 1-1-2 were, Canario Emergencies (SUC) with a medicalized ambulance and another basic life support, Primary Care with a doctor and nurse from the Tunte Health Center, the Search and Rescue service (SAR ) with a rescue helicopter and the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium.
