The organization recruited minors, mostly of North African origin, and provided them with false documentation to leave the islands after paying 1000 euros.
There are nine people detained, seven in the province of Alicante and two in the province of Murcia, who are accused of crimes against the rights of foreign citizens within a criminal organization and document falsification.
Agents of the National Police have dismantled a criminal organization that was allegedly dedicated to recruiting migrant minors who arrived by boat to the Canary Islands to transport them to the peninsula and other European countries. The organization was in charge of managing the trip and the false documentation necessary to be able to fly for amounts close to 1000 euros. Nine people have been arrested in the operation, seven in the province of Alicante and two in the Region of Murcia, two of whom have been placed in provisional prison. In addition, the entry and search has been carried out in four properties in said provinces in which 1000 euros in cash, three mobile phones, several electronic devices and various documentation have been seized.
The police investigation, which began in January of this year, has made it possible to confirm the existence of a perfectly structured criminal organization that profited from the transfer of migrant minors from the Canary Islands to the peninsula and various European countries, and that had a clear division of recruitment tasks, obtaining false passports and travel management.
1000 euros per migrant
The profile of the person trafficked by the organization was that of a minor male migrant of Maghreb origin, who at the time of hiring their services was provided with the documentation of third parties to be able to travel, as well as the acquisition of flights and accompaniment. at airports, all for amounts close to 1000 euros.
The deployment carried out in this operation by the National Police has involved carrying out simultaneous actions in different locations in the provinces of Alicante and Murcia, and the participation of more than 150 agents. In addition to the objects related to this investigation, the agents have seized 100 boxes of clothing valued at 270.000 euros and 26 unlabeled oil bottles, which may have come from other crimes against property carried out by the organization.
