On September 7, the Civil Guard of the Main Neighborhood Post investigated a 46-year-old man for the commission of an alleged crime of abandonment of minors, for leaving a nine-year-old minor between two and approximately three hours inside a vehicle parked on Avenida de Canarias, without the company of any adult in the municipality of Vecindario.
Occurrence of events
On September 4 at 01:30 in the morning, the Citizen Security patrol, which was providing service at night, was alerted by the COS central office about the presence of a minor alone inside a vehicle in the Avenida de Canarias in the town of Vecindario. When the agents arrived at the scene, they located a parked vehicle near a shopping center, verifying that only a 9-year-old minor was inside. He himself stated that his father had gotten out of the vehicle and did not know where he had gone, and added that he had been waiting in the car for approximately two to three hours. However, the agents observed how the vehicle's windows were completely rolled up, but the minor was calm, in good condition and with the mobile terminal.
For this reason, the agents immediately began the appropriate steps to locate the minor's father, and went to the establishments near a shopping center, collecting numerous data and statements, obtaining different indications that allowed them to locate him around two in the morning inside a arcade, playing slot machines, in the company of the minor's aunt.
Likewise, the members of the Civil Guard inform the alleged perpetrator of the events that having left his son alone inside the vehicle could incur criminal liability.
For this reason, the investigation of the corresponding proceedings began, which were placed at the disposal of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Guard Court.
