Arguineguín celebrates his fifth Enduro this Friday and Saturday

MASPALOMAS24H Wednesday, September 21, 2022

The Arguineguín Enduro motorcycling test returns for the second consecutive year with two days, the night prologue on Friday, October 23 and the two race rounds plus the well-known 'Impossible Climb' on Saturday the 24th. This, the fifth edition, is organized the XCCOSMOBI Costa Biker's Motoclub with the support of the Mogán City Council and the Canarian Motorcycle Federation. In addition, it is part of the Canary Islands Enduro Championship.

The V Enduro of Arguineguín was presented last night in the striking setting of the Mogán Mall Shopping Center in Puerto Rico, overlooking the largest cyber fountain in the Canary Islands on which both the name of the test and images of it from previous years were projected.

At the event, the mayor of Mogán Sports, Luis Becerra, highlighted the work done by the organization to provide new features each edition and surprise the runners. “Last year we were the first regional event that organized a prologue, a night preview, making the Arguineguín Enduro special within the Federation's calendar,” he said, also insisting that “we work for the athlete” and that the final objective is that when “the rider turns off the motorcycle and takes off his helmet, he feels that it is worth coming to compete in the municipality of Mogán.”

The competition is divided into two parts. The first will be the night prologue race on Friday the 23rd. The drivers will start three by three and a final will be held between the four best times to determine the position that each of these will start on Saturday. It will be that day in the morning when the competition begins with two 30-minute rounds on a closed circuit, located on the plots in front of the IES Arguineguín facilities, on Damasco Street. The day will end with the 'Impossible Climb', which this year does not count towards the final classification, but the winner will be awarded.

For the president of the Inter-Insular Motorcycle Federation of Las Palmas, Marcos Herrera, “it is a pride to have this consolidated test” on the calendar, something that he considers “a sign that Canarian motorcycling in its Enduro form continues to increase.” With Herrera and Becerra, the president of the XCCOSMOBI Costa Biker's Motoclub, Crhistian Romero, also presented the test, who stated “it is a pleasure to welcome the world of motorcycles and support the sport,” referring to the recent creation of the club. For their part, the brothers Joshua and Rayco Guerra, responsible for the organization, showed their gratitude to all those who make it possible to carry out the test each year, and announced that surprises will be revealed on both Friday and Saturday.

Pilot Santi Hernández, also known as Santi88, also traveled to Mogán Mall, who competes in the championships of the Canary Islands, Catalonia (1st position) and Spain (4th position). “It is a spectacular test.” “It is an unforgettable experience and then the sleeves with that color and those ruts that make the terrain complicated, and at the end the 'Impossible Climb' that challenges you to give your best,” he said.

The manager of the shopping center Olga Alonso-Lamberti also participated, thanking “the City Council and the organizers for thinking about Mogán Mall.” There, competition motorcycles are exhibited today and information about the competition that takes place this Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24 is offered.

The public who comes to Arguineguín, in addition to enjoying the attractive test, will be able to witness an exhibition of maxi trail motorcycles on Friday starting at 17:00 p.m.
