A woman investigated for an alleged telematic scam of 1.600 euros in the Village

The author scammed through different online shopping platforms with the number of another person's bank card

 

The Teams @ of the island of Gran Canaria, within the framework of the investigation, identified and investigated last June a 58-year-old woman, resident in the municipality of Aldea de San Nicolás, for the alleged authorship of a crime of fraud by having made different purchases through online sales platforms for clothing, video games and telecommunications, using the number of another person's bank card, managing to defraud a total amount of 1.600 euros.

 

Occurrence of events

 

The Civil Guard was made aware of a complaint filed at the San Nicolás Village Post (Las Palmas) on January 7, 2022, in which it was reported that unknown author(s) had made numerous online purchases through of purchasing platforms without the victim's consent, harming her financially with an amount that ranges over 1600 euros, which she does not recognize as her own.

 

Investigations and identification

 

The Team of the island of Gran Canaria, in the exercise of its specific functions in matters of Cybercrime, collected all the data on the events that occurred, realizing that the alleged fraudster had used the number of the victim's credit card, As a result of the extensive investigation, it was possible to discover the complete affiliation of the woman under investigation. For this reason, the procedures carried out are sent to judicial headquarters.
