The national president of the party, Román Rodríguez, endorsed Javier Romero's candidacy for mayor of Mogán for the next elections, highlighting the enthusiasm with which he faces this challenge and his knowledge of the local administration.

Román Rodríguez, president of Nueva Canarias, accompanied by the vice president of the party, and current mayor of Telde, Carmen Hernández, publicly showed their support for the candidacy of Javier Romero for mayor of Mogán for the next local elections in 2021.

At the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Canarian formation, the president of NC gave a brief review of the difficulties that the Canary Islands have faced in recent years, and the consequences that it has had in the municipality of Mogán, in this sense. He highlighted the importance of having people willing to step forward and commit to their municipality. Román Rodríguez highlighted the youth and knowledge that Javier Romero has of the local administration as fundamental elements to face the next local elections.

The current mayor of Telde and vice president of NC, Carmen Hernández, expressed herself in a similar sense, comparing the transformative work that she has been promoting in Telde, with what the municipality of Mogán needs to develop its full potential, and that it is an arduous but Get excited about the task that the candidate for mayor of Mogán will have to face.

For his part, Javier Romero stated that he assumes responsibility to be the NC candidate for mayor of Mogán, but not before stating that he will continue with the hard work carried out by the councilor and spokesperson for NC in Mogán, Isabel Santiago, during the last 12 years, defending the general interest, honesty in the management of public resources, and effective equality between all the residents of Mogán.

The now candidate expressed that he will begin a round of meetings with the different groups of the municipality to delve deeper into their demands, while also reporting on the main lines of work he wants to carry out in Mogán, such as supporting social initiatives such as that of the food bank, creating an effective system of real aid for SMEs and entrepreneurs, to continue their activity and generate employment, the development of a new tourism promotion policy, and the implementation of a new public management model, which starts from an in-depth audit of the economic management carried out in recent years, among others on which it is working.

A real democracy is necessary in Mogán, where “fear and persecution” disappear from day to day, and put an end to the bad image that the shadow of corruption projects over our municipality. “Another way of doing things, another way of treating people is possible, and that is what my proposal for Mogán and my neighbors is based on,” said Romero.
