This week a municipal crew from Vías y Obras is working on the renovation of the reed roofs of La Cardonera, in the Veneguera neighborhood, a natural space that during the year is the scene of several events such as the Living Nativity Scene.
The Councilor for the Environment and Beautification, Juan Carlos Ortega, assures that this action is necessary because “the roofs were quite deteriorated due to the passage of time” and also because the Hermine storm caused more damage to them. However, he has indicated that the Government group is working on a project to improve and condition the entire space.
In addition to the renovation of the reed roofs in the wooden structures distributed throughout La Cardonera, under which different activities take place during public events – all related to Canarian crafts and traditions –, cleaning will also be carried out these days. of the entire facility and small incidents detected will be resolved.
