The dog was in terrible health conditions due to severe malnutrition.
On October 6, the SEPRONA Neighborhood Patrol investigated two people for a continued crime of animal abuse and/or animal abandonment, for having two dogs in a private home in
precarious state, presenting extreme severe thinness, in the municipality of Ingenio.
The investigation was initiated by SEPRONA as a result of citizen collaboration, which brought to the attention of the Civil Guard some images of a dog in terrible physical conditions on the roof of a house in the town of Carrizal, which motivated the inspection by the agents.
SEPRONA goes to the address provided and verifies that the dog is at the home thanks to the collaboration of a citizen, who was able to lift the Civil Guard Agents to a height of 4 meters with a crane, to verify that the animal He was at the home and checking on-site the dog's state of malnutrition, having no water or food, nor a place to shelter.
It is worth mentioning that the animal was alone in the house and since its life was in danger, the Civil Guard Agents accessed the interior accompanied by the municipal services for collecting domestic animals.
Furthermore, inside the house there was another animal tied with a short chain, without food and in a state of extreme thinness.
For this reason, both dogs are seized and they are transferred by the municipal services to the veterinarian with whom the City Council of Ingenio has an agreement, so that a clinical evaluation and appropriate treatment can be carried out on the two dogs, verifying that one of the animals It has a chip associated with
a person other than the one who resides at home and the other dog does not have a chip.
It should be noted that the veterinary report confirms that the animals have severe malnutrition, foreign bodies inside the stomach due to ingesting objects from their environment such as stones due to lack of food, and that if the agents had not acted with the necessary speed, the animals would have deceased at the location found.
Due to these events, two people were investigated as alleged perpetrators of a crime of animal abuse and/or animal abandonment, with the proceedings being made available to the Telde Police Court.
