The Civil Guard clarifies a crime of simulation of 1.900 euros
The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria, identified on October 1, a 25-year-old person for a crime of simulation of a crime, when the injured party stated that he had been attacked and held against his will. by a group of six people, who forced him to withdraw 1.900 euros from a nearby ATM, in the municipality of Mogán.

On October 1, the Civil Guard learned of the events following a complaint filed by the victim with the Civil Guard of Puerto Rico, stating that he had been attacked and held against his will by a group of six people, forcing him to withdraw the amount of 1.900 euros from a bank account at the nearest ATM.
Investigation and police inquiries
Once the Civil Guard is aware of the facts and given the seriousness, the appropriate investigative procedures are carried out to clarify the criminal acts, such as a thorough viewing of existing cameras where the alleged threats were perpetrated, surveillance where the crimes are committed, the appropriate inquiries and investigations and technical police inspections, thus being able to collect all police investigations to identify the perpetrators of criminal acts.
The result of the investigations collected could be obtained from different video surveillance recording systems, observing how the complainant in a state of intoxication had conversations with other passers-by and merchants, being himself the one who took the money out of the ATM voluntarily, being accompanied by another person, who at no time seemed to hold him back or threaten him to get the money, with the amount of €1.900 being extracted by the complainant voluntarily.
It should be noted that in recent months there has been an increase in similar complaints, reporting alleged victims who have been attacked and detained by groups of people, forcing them to withdraw money from the nearest ATM or from the belongings they had inside the premises. the rooms of the place where they were staying.
For this reason, the recordings of the video surveillance systems in the places where the events had been reported served to completely distort the complaint presented by the injured parties.
The commission of a crime of simulation of a crime is brought to the attention of the competent investigating court of these facts.
