The Advisory Council of the Canary Islands has just issued an opinion that endorses the OPE (Public Employment Offer) 2019, a fact that means that the San Bartolomé City Council will finally be able to provide itself with more staff.
This resolution of the Consultative is given due to the demand presented by the political group PP-AV, which caused the paralysis of the public employment offer process, specifically the provision of 30 local police positions, and the consequent retrogression of said position. procedure.
From there, it was the mayor herself and the head of the Human Resources area, Conchi Narváez, who collected all the information and legal precepts and decided to continue with the procedures until the positions that were so necessary for the council were filled.
The first mayor, aware of the damage that was being caused to the municipal administration, since the appeal filed was based solely on a formal issue, adopted the criterion of moving forward and thus guaranteeing the provision of 30 positions, that is, the hiring of sub-inspectors, officers and local police officers.
Parallel to Narváez's decision, the city council's HR department sent a consultation to the Canary Islands Advisory Council. While waiting for the opinion of the autonomous body, the OPE process continued its course, recently approving the positions of sub-inspectors and, subsequently, that of officers and agents of the Local Police.
And it was today that the Council's opinion was received that endorses the decision taken by the Mayor's Office, a text that argues that the appeal filed lacks the legal weight to justify the suspension of this procedure.
“This resolution of the supreme advisory body of the Canary Islands represents a transcendental step for our municipality to have more personnel. This will guarantee greater security on our streets and will provide the current Local Police staff with better working conditions,” highlighted the mayor after learning of the resolution.
