The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has decided to delay the awarding of the management of the 2023 Maspalomas carnival because the technicians maintain that the specifications are poorly prepared. This is a contract for 291.942,58 euros along with the implementation of mass events for 75.594 euros between March 9 and 19. The companies that opted for the service were: Rider Service Plus, Option Productions, the joint venture formed by Nexus Services 2019 and the Pride Sports & Culture lobby in addition to Benal Music Canarias 2020.
In July 2022, the file had the approval of the State Intervention. But other technicians have disabled the procedure. That is to say: the mechanisms must be put into operation again before the end of 2022. After the contracting table held on September 12, 2022, the documentation was opened and the municipal technician, for the purposes of its assessment, urged to desistance.
The municipal technician assigned to Contracting, responsible for the file, issues a report stating that she has no arguments that could sufficiently justify that the administrative document of particular clauses violates the rules of preparation of the contract or those regulating the procedure. The 2023 Maspalomas International Carnival will be dedicated to Latin Rhythms after a popular vote called by the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council after eight days of public exhibition, with three proposals: 'Paris City of Love', 'Seabeds' and ' Latin Rhythms', which, finally, was the most voted option, with 52%.
