At around 11:06 a.m., the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing that lifeguards from the Beach Rescue Service were performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers on a person who had been rescued from the sea with signs of drowning and who was in cardiorespiratory arrest.

A 53-year-old man who, at the initial moment of assistance, has recovered from cardiorespiratory arrest and is subsequently transferred in critical condition in the SUC medical helicopter to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. The SUC health coordinators, present in the 1-1-2 operating room, provided telecare to the first responders while they carried out the maneuvers until the arrival of the SUC resources. The medical helicopter landed on the same beach and was responsible for transporting the affected person to the hospital once he was stabilized by the medical team. The emergency resources deployed to the area of the incident collaborated in securing the area for the landing of the aircraft. Police officers were in charge of the corresponding reports.
