The reference event for new trends on the Island starts on Friday, November 11 with an exhibitor area, a walkway and a picnic area
71 brands from the fashion, technology, art and design sectors participate, of which 19 are new to this event and five from the Gran Canaria Moda Cálida program
The reference event for new trends on the Island, Moda y Amigos (Fashion and Friends) will celebrate its eleventh edition this weekend in the Estadio Insular park of the Gran Canaria capital, faithful to the objective with which it was born under the umbrella of the Gran Canaria Moda Cálida program - promoted by the Cabildo - and which is none other than serving as a platform for the fashion, technology, art and design sector, on this occasion under the motto “recess time” and with the already traditional exhibitor area that will feature the participation of 71 brands, and the catwalk along which another 21 will parade, in addition to the picnic area and a program of parallel activities.
This was explained by the Minister of Industry, Minerva Alonso, during the presentation, in which she recalled that Moda y Amigos “arises from the need to make visible the work of young designers, plastic and visual artists, entrepreneurs from other disciplines, to provide them with a scenario for exchanging projects.” A space in which these new talents can market and publicize their original creations, promote their brand, test buyers and contact other professionals, companies in the sector, the media and consumers of fashion, trends, design and art.
Fashion & Friends is also conceived as a space in which the audience can learn about fashion from another point of view: by getting involved in the creation processes and committing to differentiated consumption. "It is more than a fair, since it includes parallel activities such as fashion shows, product presentations, musical performances, leisure and restaurants," said the counselor.
