Behind this candidacy there are 33 years of work to maintain the spirit of associations in the southeast of the Island of Gran Canaria, since ASCOIVE was established on November 28, 1988 by the will of a group of merchants and other businessmen and professionals with the with the aim of developing the concept of Open Shopping Center in its area of operation and jointly improving the competitiveness of the SMEs that made it up.
An endeavor that has received the full support of this island government, which since 2015 has granted 165 thousand euros in subsidies to revitalize the area with actions such as the latest ones this year of the Tapas Route or the Canary Islands Day window contest. . “The objective of the Cabildo is none other than to help businessmen attract customers, to move the economy and generate employment, and Ascoive must be congratulated because it has been in this endeavor for many years, with work that has deserved national attention and that "It is still a recognition of all the people who get up early every day to carry out their business with effort and enthusiasm," and which serves as an example and reference for other areas of the Island," said the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Crafts. , Minerva Alonso, who was present today at the delivery ceremony.

Ascoive has continued to grow as a private, non-profit, open and independent organization defending the interests of entrepreneurs in the Neighborhood ZCA before the Administration, professional organizations and public and private institutions; boosting the economy of the southeast of Gran Canaria and promoting job creation and social entrepreneurship, as well as generating business opportunities and its digital transformation.
At the time of its constitution, in 1988, it was a pioneer among zonal business organizations throughout the Canary Islands and since then it has developed multiple trade promotion actions for SMEs in Santa Lucía de Tirajana, being to date the only active business organization in the municipality with more than 34 years of work behind him.
