At around 12:50 p.m., the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert in which it was reported that a bather had been rescued from the sea in an unconscious state and with signs of drowning. .
The members of the General Corps of the Canarian Police who were in the area began to perform basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers on the affected person until the arrival of health resources.
Upon arrival, the SUC continued to perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers that managed to stabilize the patient's heart rate and prepared for his urgent evacuation to the hospital. However, on the way to the hospital, the affected person once again went into cardiorespiratory arrest, which forced the medical ambulance to divert and go to the Maspalomas health center where they continued with their assistance, this time without obtaining results, and finally confirming the death of the bather.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. The security personnel, Local Police and Civil Guard collaborated in the incident and were in charge of the corresponding procedures, as well as Civil Protection of Mogán collaborated with the emergency services.
