On the occasion of the celebration on November 20 of World Children's Day, the City Council of Santa Lucía de Tirajana will celebrate from this Monday until next Saturday, November 19, the XII Children's Day of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. Among the many activities are workshops on biodance, African clothing, stories, storytelling, a round table, inflatables and the Children's Fair. Most of the events will be held in the Plaza de Balos and in the Balos Sociocultural Center, although there will also be a play park on Friday the 19th in Sardina.
The events begin this Monday afternoon with a live broadcast on Radio Tagoror. The municipal station will broadcast from the Balos Sociocultural Center a program dedicated to children, covering topics such as health, behavioral disorders, bullying, and nutrition. On Tuesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., also at the Balos Sociocultural Center, there will be children's workshops for families, including bubble and bead workshops. Games such as jump rope, hopscotch, and sack races will also be offered. At 7:00 p.m., Julia Rodríguez Osés will lead a Biodanza workshop for families. These activities are free of charge. On Wednesday the 16th at 17 p.m. there will be a round table where children's neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD, Down syndrome, Asperger's, ASD or functional diversity will be discussed. After the round table there will be a debate with the attendees. The associations Asdowsur, Addisur, Funcasor, Aulas en Clave and Asociación Mi Hijo y Yo will participate.
On Thursday the 17th in Balos Square there will be an intercultural afternoon with workshops on kimonos, African clothing, African dance and music, and storytelling. Afterwards there will be an intercultural snack with the students of Spanish classes for foreigners from the League for Education. And at 19.30:8 p.m. there will be the children's story-telling performance 'Around the World of Juega – Cuentos' with the cultural association XNUMX Cajas.
The Councilor for Citizen Participation, Ana Gopar, highlights that "one of the objectives of these sessions that we organize from the Participation area is to give prominence to the smallest citizens, so that they get involved in the coexistence of their community." Ella Gopar adds that “we want to create spaces where girls and boys show their concerns and demands.”
On Friday from 17 to 19 p.m. there will be the Children's Fair in the Plaza de Balos, with inflatables, sports activities, craft workshops, playroom, dance, Gran Canaria Recycles... At 18.15:19 p.m. there will be the institutional event with intervention by the mayor of Santa Lucía deTirajana, Francisco García, and the Vocal Technique students of the Municipal School of Music of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. The fair will end with a performance by Hannibal the Magician. The days conclude in Sardina on Saturday the XNUMXth with a play park with bouncy castles, giant games and craft workshops.
