Yesterday afternoon the starting signal was given for the 9th GRAN CANARIA HISTORIC RALLYE-SANTA LUCIA with the Official Presentation event held yesterday at the Santa Lucía de Tirajana Town Hall. In the presentation, all the details of the rally's development were explained and the good reception that the municipality has given to the Gran Canaria Historic Rallye with a future projection was highlighted. 

 

For this first edition that starts from the town in the southeast of the Island and with the aim of giving relevance to this milestone in the history of the GCHR, the organization wanted to have the presence of the legendary Italian pilot Miki Biasion, who will be the one piloting “car 0” accompanied by the experienced co-driver from Santa Lucía Rogelio Peñate in some of the stages of the rally, also being present in the work parks to advise the Organization in order to give an international character to the event in future editions. 

 

 

Regarding the Official List of Registrations, yesterday a participation of about 85 to 90 teams was announced, with finally 84 participants confirming their presence in this unique event in its specialty in the Canary Islands. In the Speed ​​section, a wide variety of categories are concentrated, with Cristian Suárez leading the starting order, followed by Tato Suárez and Sergio Marrero; with three vehicles that have marked an era in the world of motor racing. In Regularity, the first classified in the regional and provincial championships will face each other, such as Carlos Jorge or José Ignacio Guerra, who will surely enter into a disputed fight with Marcos Fernández, leader of the Spanish Championship in the specialty.

 

Following what is established in the Schedule Program, on Friday afternoon the Administrative and Technical Verifications will be carried out at the Neighborhood Fairgrounds to subsequently experience this inaugural Exit Ceremony starting at 20:30 p.m. on Avenida de Canarias of the aforementioned town.

 

The Aterura Team is extremely grateful for the involvement of the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council, which with its different Councils and Departments has facilitated the work of organizing a test of these characteristics.
