MASPALOMAS24H Thursday, November 17 from 2022

The detainees fled after the robbery, being intercepted by the Local Police of Mogán at the height of the Tablero

In the early morning hours of this Thursday, November 17, the Mogán Local Police arrested three adults and a minor for allegedly forcing entry to the Bahía Playa restaurant in Puerto Rico and taking the cash register. After being alerted, local agents managed to stop the vehicle in which they were fleeing in the area of El Tablero.

The Local Police were alerted around 5:00 a.m., being informed of the departure of the alleged thieves from the beach of Puerto Rico, where the affected establishment is located, towards Las Palmas on the GC-500. The agents located the vehicle in the vicinity of the BP gas station in Arguineguín, but it changed direction and headed towards the GC-1 highway. The Local Police of Mogán pursues him from Arguineguín and manages to stop the escape in El Tablero, in the neighboring municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

The Moganero Corps then requests support from other police units, with two National Police patrols and one from the Civil Guard from the Puerto Rico Post arriving at the scene. The Local Police certify that there are four people in the vehicle, a 22-year-old woman, the driver and owner of the vehicle, and three men aged 19, 18 and 17 years old. The driver is required to open the trunk, where they identify a cash register without the top cover where the ticket issuance system is housed and bills and coins inside. When asked about the box, the driver states that she is unaware of its existence, responding “perhaps she appeared in the trunk by magic,” “she must have arrived by herself.”

The interior of the vehicle was also searched, finding screwdrivers, a wrench, a mobile phone and a large number of keys of which none of the four occupants claim to be owners. For its part, the Civil Guard, after inspecting the restaurant, determined that the access door was forced and found the missing cover of the stolen cash register. Finally, the person in charge of the restaurant recognizes the cash register and the Mogán Local Police arrest the occupants of the vehicle, transferring them to their offices in Arguineguín to proceed with the investigation. The transfer had the collaboration of the National Police and the Civil Guard.

Once the proceedings were completed, the detainees were transferred to the Civil Guard barracks in Puerto Rico, where they will remain until they are brought to justice. The minor remains in the custody of his legal guardians.
