Concerts from Gran Canaria Big Bad, Los Salvapantallas, kid Rock History, La Banda de los Piojillos, humor by Omayra Cazorla, Jaime Marrero, children's parties, clowns, batucada, craft fair, special lighting, drive-in cinema and up to 50 activities will entertain the open commercial area of Avenida de Canarias and different towns and neighborhoods during the Christmas season. The City Council of Santa Lucía de Tirajana has organized fifty activities with the collaboration of the Ascoive Business Association so that the citizens of the municipality and other areas of the island choose Santa Lucía de Tirajana to enjoy leisure at Christmas and to carry out their shopping.
The mayor of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Francisco García, presented the Christmas program this Monday accompanied by the Councilor for Commerce, Sergio Vega, the Councilor for Culture, Yaiza Pérez and the president of the Neighborhood Business Association, Juan Pérez. The mayor thanked the municipal staff of the Department of Commerce, the Department of Culture, Tourism, Public Services "and other areas that have been involved so that the Christmas campaign is as it deserves this city and this open commercial area of the Avenida of the Canary Islands.” The mayor also highlighted "the collaboration of Ascoive and all the merchants in our municipality who strive every year to offer quality products to the citizens of Santa Lucía de Tirajana and our visitors."
The Councilor for Commerce, Sergio Vega, highlighted that “we have a very broad and varied program, we have organized many events that begin this Tuesday at 18.30:7 p.m. with the inauguration of the Traditional Nativity Scene in the Plaza de los Algodoneros, which will feature performances by the CEIP Tinguaro and MLOU Gospel Choir”. The mayor added that "the events will last until Saturday, January XNUMX, that day the comedian Omayra Cazorla will perform and the draw organized by ASCOIVE will take place." Vega highlighted that “the commercial sector of Santa Lucía de Tirajana is a benchmark, with the most important open commercial area on the islands, and the objectives of all these events is for people to choose our local business for their Christmas shopping and to have a leisure offer as befits a city like ours.”
The Councilor for Culture and Identity, Yaiza Pérez, highlighted that “like every year in our area we organize activities for Christmas, such as some family shows, the collection of letters from the Three Wise Men on January 4 in the Plaza de San Rafael from 17.30:21 p.m. until 5 p.m., that same afternoon there will be a Kid Rock History concert in the Plaza de Los Algodoneros.” The culture councilor added that "another of the most massive events will be the Three Wise Men Parade that will be on January XNUMX from the Cruce de Sardina to the Víctor Jara theater."
The Traditional Christmas Nativity Scene will be on the ground floor of the Avenida de Canarias Shopping Center with morning hours for visits by schools and groups and visits for the entire public from 16 to 21 p.m. On November 26th there will be the Christmas Lighting of Avenida de Canarias, the official opening of the lighting will be at 20pm in the Plaza de Los Algodoneros and at 21pm in the Plaza de San Rafael there will be the Los Salvapantallas concert. On December 3rd there will be the Christmas Lighting in Santa Lucía, with a SwingStar concert.
The mayor of commerce highlighted that throughout the month of December there will be activities designed especially for the little ones not only on Avenida de Canarias, but "also in Plaza de Balos, Sardina, Casa Pastores, Santa Lucía Casco and Doctoral." There will also be a drive-in movie, on December 16 at the back of the Víctor Jara theater there will be 'Cinema and Chocolate', you can watch a movie from the car while eating churro and chocolate.
On Thursday, December 22, the students of the Municipal School of Music will offer a Christmas Concert at the Víctor Jara theater at 19 p.m. The next day, on Friday, December 20, in the Plaza de San Rafael, Gran Canaria, Big Bad will offer a concert with Christmas songs. From December 27 to 29, the Children's City will be the Christmas City, with workshops, inflatables, storytelling, music and magic among other activities.
The president of the Association of Neighborhood Entrepreneurs (ASCOIVE), Juan Pérez, announced that a raffle will be held among the clients of the open commercial area on Avenida de Canarias on January 7 in the Plaza de Los Algodoneros. Among the prizes that will be given will be a first prize that will consist of a Mediterranean cruise for two people, plus a diamond ring, there will be a second prize that will be a trip to Port Aventura for two adults and two children, the third prize will be a trip to Madeira for two people, a fourth prize will be a 500 euro shopping voucher to spend in the municipality's shops and there will be other prizes such as a dinner for two people.
At the end of the press conference, Mayor Francisco García and the Councilors of Commerce and Culture presented the president of Ascoive with a plaque where the City Council congratulates ASCOIVE for the Special Mention in the 2022 National Domestic Trade Awards recently awarded by the Ministry of Commerce in the form of open shopping centers. The mayor, Francisco García, highlighted that "our Open Commercial Zone is already a benchmark in the Canary Islands, and now it also has this award at the state level, therefore from the City Council we also wanted to make this public recognition."
