The officials who promoted the tourism of congresses of officials of the Ministry of Finance remain in their positions because the payment was legal and they are all still in their positions, the matter has already reached the Senate and it is known that there are regional deputies. The expense was signed by the mayor of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, it has cost 500.003 euros but the person who has resigned is someone unrelated to the event: a PP councilor in Tirajana, Santa Lucía. The PP spokesperson in Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Marcos Rufo, left the government group this Thursday after voting against the municipal budgets for 2023 due to his disagreement with the public money allocated for "luxuries" in the Local Administration Congress held last week in Maspalomas.
Until this Thursday, the government group of Santa Lucía de Tirajana was made up of seven councilors from NC, five from Fortaleza-CC and two from the PP, 14 in total; while the opposition is made up of eleven councilors, five from the PSOE, five from the Neighborhood Group and one from Podemos. Therefore, Rufo's PP formally joins the alliance with AV in line with what had been planned in the south of Gran Canaria.
And does the PP have anything to do with this controversy? None. This Thursday, the head of NC in San Bartolomé de Tirajana and member of the local government coalition said that he does not share the waste but has not indicated who is technically or politically responsible for that expense which, in the opinion of PP, CC and already of NC, has been executed with the congress of officials of the Ministry of Finance held this November in Maspalomas.
