The Tirajanera leader of the Canarian PSOE, Concepción Narváez, has taken advantage of the crisis that arose from the congress of officials of the Ministry of Finance of Maspalomas to take note of who can be part of her crew and who cannot, starting now and immediately. At the moment, she is going through the preparation of municipal lists and terminating contracts for the thinking heads who are supposed to anticipate damage when there is a forecast of disaster. Just read the headline of Canarias7, which has been more pro-government than La Provincia, and this Sunday: "The keys to the 'luxury congress': waste, complaints and a broken pact," headlined in an unsigned chronicle.
Narváez always operates in politics silently and always pretending not to give importance to the things that hurt him, but he takes note of everything. The body language of the last express act placed on the agenda to simulate a certain normality revealed that this lawyer of her plumbers from Las Palmas in the south was going through her worst moment in the political life, more efficiency than defending herself without providing solutions basing her theories on thesis conspiracy. In Friday's meetings, the management of the PSOE in Tirajana was only treated obliquely.
Since mid-November, Narváez knew that this was going to explode in the municipality and spread to the rest of Spain, but in his closest circle there was unanimity in telling him that, at most, there would be some WhatsApp comments and unrest on social networks. But it was like that. When the controversy broke out, the response from his communication office was to drown it in silence and prohibit the councilors from expressing their defense and waiting for the storm to clear up.
But the storm ended in a hurricane and less than 200 days before municipal elections, the PSOE of San Bartolomé de Tirajana could lose the mayoralty of the south of Gran Canaria at a crucial moment for the transformation of the destiny and for providing neighborhood responses. From the outset, a dropped pen strike is expected among officials due to the poor image given to this professional group, taken advantage of by AV-PP and CC as well as partners such as NC and even a non-existent party without representation, the HA, has brought out its artillery to the street against the PSOE. Only Unidos por Gran Canaria remains silent.
